Pasture Raised Chickens.

Apart from mining, the Homestead Diamonds Team is using biomimicry principles to develop a regenerative agriculture business that is also repairing the land and building soil health.

Through sustainable farming methods, the regenerative agriculture project at the mine aims to restore the land using chickens and undo some of the damage caused by local mining operations. The manure from the chickens repairs damaged soil, adding much-needed nutrients and structure to the ground.

Not only repairing the soil, but Homestead Diamonds is also currently developing a sustainable commercial business, setting up distribution channels to ensure these free-range eggs get to market.

There are currently over 500 chickens on site, laying +- 400 eggs daily.
